It’s the 13th of June and people have lined up in front of the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
There were definitely a lot more younger fans and parents then the average kpop concert, it was clear that the younger generations are in love with IVE. I mean who can blame them, the girls are an absolute must to see if you are into the kpop girl groups.
The concert started off with a blast, confetti launched into the air as the girls took to the stage walking all the way to the front. Their shimmering white outfits were covered in delicate chains and glittery accessories, they definitely took the phrase ‘shine bright like a diamond’ literally. Kicking off with their most viral song of 2023 ‘I AM’
Encouraging the crowd, the girls asked Amsterdam to scream for them, pretty sure some poor parents who didn’t bring ear plugs still have a hearing problem till this day. It was loud alright! From Royal (Rock Version) to Blue Blood, the girls were giving it their all as they performed live on stage. It was clear no back track was in the background as they showed off their vocal talents. The energy from the stage was matched with the visuals on the screen and the background dancers.
When the time came to introduce themselves it was clear they had been practising their Dutch was so good! From ‘Hallo ik ben’, ‘dankjewel voor het komen’ and my all time favourite ‘jullie zijn de beste’ the girls were adorable <3 whenever they did speak in Korean the translator translated it back to the fans in English.
The rest of the concert was filled with cheers and screams, showcasing some cute moments during the some ‘Cherish’ when the visuals turned to social media overlays. One of the background dancers came on stage with a remote camera filming the girls as if they were doing a live stream. The footage on screen showing the interactions. The first act ended with ‘ELEVEN’ where the background dancers closed the song as the big screens moved inwards closing the stage.
Some shimmering white outfits the girls returned in baby doll pink! Going for that princess scribes they had more diamonds on their outfits then the crowd could count. Even their own in-ear mics were bejewelled in pink stones. Performing ‘Shine With Me’ later on the girls referred to themselves as the goddess of the moon, flowers, the ocean… They were very excited as it was their first time coming to Amsterdam and spoke very emotionally about their excitement for the tour itself to meet their fans.
From ‘Lips’, ‘Mine’, ‘Off The Record’ the girls performed many songs before they got to their solo stages where they did some covers of iconic songs like ‘Usher's - Yeah’, ‘Spice Girls - Wannabe’, ‘Little Mix - Woman Like Me’
When it was time for another outfit change the vibe of the screens changed to something unexpected, we were welcomed with what started off looking like a cute sketch of a Kdrama but the longer the video went on the darker the concept became. And so when the girls returned to the stage their cute baby girl concept had disappeared as switched to an all black vibe. Performing some absolute bangers like ‘Hypnosis’, ‘Accendio’, ‘LOVE DIVE’, ‘Kitsch’. The concert was slowly coming to an end as they went off stage one more time, the camera’s turned around and pointed at the crowd. It was time to dance along! With a little count down the camera pointed at a random group of fans as they were challenged to dance along whilst the crowd cheered them on. Returning in customised versions of their tour merch they spoke to us once more telling us ‘Ik hou van jou’, ‘Dankjewel voor het komen’’ and complimenting the city of Amsterdam. I will say I lose count at the amount of times they replayed their final song ‘’All Night’’ . It was an absolute part at the end with even more confetti. Whenever we would think the party was about to finish they ran back on stage and ‘’All Night’’ would start playing again.
