[Concert Recap] ATEEZ The Fellowship : Break The Wall' World Tour - Amsterdam, NL

For the second time in less than a year, the 8 boys of ATEEZ (pronounced as Eighties, not as Ah-tiez, Dutch media ;)) came to Amsterdam, the Netherlands! This time in a bigger venue, Ziggo Dome with a capacity of 17k. The concert was not sold out, but it was busy enough not to make it seem empty.

The concert in the Netherlands was the 1st stop in Europe; now they are going to Brussels, Berlin, London, Madrid, Copenhagen and Paris. More info about the tour can be found here.

The Venue: Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam

The Ziggo Dome is one of the biggest music venues in the Netherlands, and very famous for hosting many bigger artists. With the 17k capacity it's a big jump from the AFAS Live with a 6k capacity, the venue where they performed in 2022.

The venue is very easy to get to. It's a few minutes walking from the train station and there are many parking garages nearby. The venue stated that it was forbidden for fans to camp outside the night before and would only be allowed starting from 9am. A few diehard fans still camped in the cold, but most came at 9am or later. The queues were very clear for which ticket holders they were, which was very nice to see! The atmosphere was very easy, and it was possible for fans to go in and out of the queue to go to the restroom or get something to eat.

The Ziggo Dome has hosted a few Kpop concerts prior, such as BTS and Blackpink. All VIP tickets were sold out, but there were still some regular standing and seating tickets available. The venue still looked almost full, with just a hand full of seats available in every section. Merchandise could be bought at a few points within and outside of the venue.

There were some fan projects happening outside the venue, such as handing out photo cards and banners. Although it was a cold day, most fans came prepared and had dressed warmly. At some point in the evening it started raining unexpectedly, but luckily the doors to the Ziggo Dome were already open for the fans to enter the venue.

The Concert

The concert started on time, at 7.31 p.m. with a VCR. As soon as the VCR started playing, fans started cheering.

ATEEZ enter the stage dressed in black cloaks, performing the song “New World”, using their cloaks and fluorescent tubes as props on stage. During the performance they took off their cloaks, revealing classy looking black outfits with golden bling accents.

The second song was “Answer”, which used flags as part of the choreography. During this performance we became aware that the camera work was amazing. The camera crew knew exactly which member’s parts to film and the image was very clear and steady. During and after the performance confetti cannons were used.

Ment: After the third song, “Sector 1”, there was a first ment for the introduction of the members. The ATEEZ members communicated with Atiny in English. Hongjoong started with their general introduction, after which Yunho, Seonghwa, San, Yeosang, Hongjoong, Wooyoung, Jongho and Mingi did their individual introductions in this order. ATEEZ asked how often Atiny has been to an ATEEZ concert, with a large group of fans cheering for the fact that they have been to their concert once, a smaller group for the second and group an even smaller core cheered for the third time. Hongjoong concluded this first ment with a safety talk, expressing that Atiny’s safety is very important, he asked the fans in the standing sections not to push each other, and after this he asked their staff in Korean to prepare water for the Atiny’s who were standing near the stage.

During the fourth song “The Ring”, it was especially noticeable that the camera zoomed in on their faces, which must have been done on purpose as ATEEZ is known for their facial expressions during their performance. During this song they used the extended podium to get closer to the fans. Also notable was the effort to use the large screens as a backdrop for their performance, such as during the next song “HALA HALA”, where HalATEEZ was edited into the screen.

VCR: About ATEEZ and Atiny being together and about the journey that we are on together, the VCR had clear English subtitles. During the VCR staff cleaned away the confetti, that had accumulated on the stage.

After this first VCR, ATEEZ came back on stage in white and purple outfits to perform “Dazzling Lights”. The choreography for this song was especially smooth, almost as if they were sliding all over the floor without any effort.

Next they performed "Mist", thanks to the amazing camera work, that zoomed in on the members faces it was noticeable that some of them removed there in ears during the song.

Ment: the members talked about the “Love that Atiny has shown us”. They prepared a song that they could sing together with the fans.

“Sunrise” was performed standing on a platform on the main stage. The lyrics of the song were shown on the screens so that the fans could sing along, which most of them did, the fans also started clapping along which gave it all a very happy and uplifting feeling.

Next they performed “My Way” during this song ATEEZ had lots of interaction with the fans, it was performed happily and cheerful.

Ment: Talking about the fan café and that ATEEZ is never lonely thanks to Atiny. Wooyoung mentioned that it feels like a dream, to which Jongho replied ‘’Should we call it a dream or reality?"

During “Illusion” and “Wave” huge balloon-like bouncing balls were released into the venue for Atiny and ATEEZ to play with together. It was so much fun that even the security staff joined in a couple of times.

Ment: Seonghwa: "Atiny are always pretty- but even prettier today!" ATEEZ started to play with the colors of Atiny’s light sticks. The highlight of this conversation was Mingi’s newly dyed bubblegum pink hair, dubbing him “Pinky Mingi” and turning the lightiny’s pink as a result.

Next song was “Win”. The dancers joined with flags and the screen had a ship backdrop. Following came "Horizon" with a very powerful dance choreo, as well as "Say My Name".

Then it was time for the infamous “Cyberpunk”, already famous because of the many fancams online. ATEEZ came back with black, leather-looking outfits, while their dancers were wearing white in contrast. Chairs were used for their performance.

Ment: Talking about San’s chair performance, which San shows us again while looking slightly embarrassed, Jongho imitated San’s dancing. Highlight of this ment was Hoongjong flirting with the camera making kissy faces and winking.

“I’m The One” was performed using a fire effect in the screen and the lightiny’s mainly flashed in red. “Rocky” used a fence and “Wonderland” green TV’s for their backdrop.

Ment: Two members (Seonghwa and Yunho) are off stage to prepare for the next performance. The venue is having a cheering battle between team Lovely, on the left side of ATEEZ, and team Cool, on their right. The lightiny’s on the left flickered in white and those on the right in red.

“Guerilla” is performed with a lot of power, the fans sang along very loudly and paired with the light effects and the lights from the lightsticks the energy and hype in the dome goes even higher. This was clearly a highly anticipated performance.

VCR with a lot of flowers and a white aesthetic. The members are wearing name tags in the VCR.

After a lot of chanting by the fans, ATEEZ comes back in their final black and red comfortably looking concert merchandise outfits for an encore to the song “Turbulence”.

Ment:The members thanked the fans and mention that they will perform the last songs with a heart full of happiness. The highlight of this ment was Yeosang saying “dank jullie wel” in Dutch.

“Celebrate” was performed with standing flower microphones, and next they performed the slower song "From".

Ment: ATEEZ and Atiny took two pictures together. During the first picture we shouted “ATEEZ” and the second “Atiny”. ATEEZ says they will perform one more song. Mingi: Singing ‘’I’m only one call away, I’m here to save the day, I love you Atiny!’’ Jongho: “I love you so much”. Wooyoung: “Next time I will be even cooler”. Hongjoong: “Hope you only got happy memories”. Yeosang: “ATEEZ is always with you”. San “Love you to the moon and back”. Seonghwa: “The brightest star in the galaxy is you”. Yunho: “We’ll come back to Amsterdam”. Hongjoong asked Atiny to sing along with the last song.

“The Real” was the festive closing song for the night. The highlights of this song were the amounts of confetti used and the shirts that revealed the Korean word “meot” or in English “cool”. The dancers joined ATEEZ for a final bow.
