The Black Rose's in the Netherlands had to wait for a bit, but after a few weeks The Rose finally visited Utrecht! The venue was more than sold out; many more fans wanted tickets, and every time a ticket was available on Ticketswap it immediately got sold again. This concert was the first that we attended as press with a camera accreditation, so we were able to shoot quite some photos!

The concert in the Netherlands was the 10th stop in Europe; the concerts left are in London, Paris and Barcelona. More info about the tour can be found here.
The Venue: Tivoli Vredenburg, Utrecht
Tivoli in Utrecht is one of the major music locations in the Netherlands, mostly for bands. The Ronda has a capacity of 2000 people, but personally we would think that they would've been better off planning The Rose in the main hall instead! The venue is very easy to get to, literally next to the train station and with many food accomodations nearby. Queuing went easy and the cloakroom was free, although you did need some patience putting away your stuff or getting it back afterwards. There were also lockers available for €2,- and there was a merchandise stand - although that line was long too!
The Ronda has different floors that you could stand on, and 6 bars to get a drink. Front row, balcony or the back of the lower floor - it was easy to see the Rose well from any spot!
The Concert
A few minutes after 8pm, the lights dimmed and
suddenly the boys entered the stage, immediately starting out with the first songs!

Definition of Ugly
She's in the Rain
California
~ and Definition of Ugly are from their new album HEAL, while She's in the Rain and California are from their second album, Dawn. At one point it's Dojoon's part to sing; however, his voice cracks, and as a result the rest of the members are cracking up laughing as well. In the ment after, he explains he recently got the flu and is recovering, but is doing his best. We hope he gets better soon!
Next is Modern Life, one of Woosung's solo songs. We are glad that they get to perform their new songs as well as old songs, after their departure from their previous company. Woosung's voice is healing, fitting the 'Heal Together' tour title, and fits the slower ballads as well as the more uptempo rock songs so well.
5. Modern Life
6. Candy
7. Red
At the next ment, Woosung is getting to know the audience better, asking whose first time it is seeing them. Many people cheer. Afterwards it's also revealed that most people know The Rose from before their The Heal. "That's amazing!"
Heal is the first full album of The Rose after existing for 7 years with lots of ups and downs. Woosung does reveal that the reason that they started doing music themselves is that they also got healed by it, and hope to heal others as well. They hope we relate and like the album, and it can be a tool to get us out of situations. There's also a beautiful song Jaehyeong wrote, which he'll tell us himself.
Jaehyeong takes over: "I hard a hard time when I wrote this song, and was wondering what can I do. I started just humming, and that's how I wrote it. Tonight I want to share my story with you, because I overcame the hardships thanks to you. I'm so thankful. Don't worry - I'm okay now, so I hope you enjoy this song!"
8. See Saw
9. Childhood 10. I.L.Y
11. Shift 12. Yes
The final song, Yes, had a much happier vibe, and Woosung and Dojoon interacted more with the audience and started dancing along to the music. At the end they continued softly, letting the audience sing along with bright lights, and the concert goers caught up to the fanchant pretty fast.
Woosung announces the next song, which is the root of The Rose's sound. It made it possible for them to be on this stage and see us. The song is also a big apology to the world: Sorry!
13. Sorry
14. Beauty and the Beast
15. Cure
The end of the concert is nearing, and Woosung thanks us for being such a wonderful crowd. "Thank you for having us, it was a wonderful night for me too! We love you so much from the bottom of our hearts." The next song is one of the more emotional and also famous songs;
16. Sour
The lights go out, the members get off the stage and come back dressed in the tour merchandise. It's time for a song very meaningful to both the band and the fans.
17. Black Rose
The song allows them to put away their instruments and interact with the crowd more, saying hi to all sides and greeting fans and sending hearts all over. During the whole concert they looked so happy to be performing, often with a smile on their faces, and it makes us so happy too!
Woosung: ‘’Black Roses have our backs, get home safely and be safe.’’
It's time to take a photo with the fans, and end the concert with the chorus of Sour playing in the background. Hajoon runs around with a Dutch flag he got from a fan, they collect roses and Woosung wears pink sunglasses.
It's really time to say goodbye. They bow for the fans and leave the stage, the fans cheering after them. It gave an unforgettable memory and we are sure their music healed many of us! Hope to see you soon, the Rose <3
